Emmy-nominated television journalist Veronica De La Cruz is a widely-recognized reporter and anchor best known for her work on CNN.

As an anchor and correspondent, De La Cruz served on CNN.com Live, CNN Pipeline, Headline News and CNN US, anchoring live coverage of major breaking stories such as Hurricane Katrina, the Southeast Asian Tsunami, the 2008 presidential elections, the Israeli-Hezbollah conflict, the death of Ronald Reagan, Pope John Paul II, the collapse on Wall Street, the housing market crash, child prostitution on Craigslist, a series that celebrated diversity, entitled "Asian in America" and more.

She served as an anchor and internet correspondent for CNN Saturday and Sunday Morning and then was promoted to the network's weekday flagship morning show — CNN's American Morning.

Prior to working at CNN, De La Cruz served as an anchor, reporter and producer at KYMA-TV NBC NewsChannel 11 in Yuma, Arizona. There, she anchored and produced a one-hour morning newscast while also anchoring a half-hour show at noon. During her tenure at KYMA-TV, she covered numerous stories on U.S.- Mexico border issues, the nation's nursing shortage, the plight of the migrant farm worker, and the homeless.

Before KYMA-TV, De La Cruz worked as a music journalist for SonicNet and Digital Planet. She began her broadcasting career hosting Direct Drive, a show she created for the Digital Entertainment Network.

As a reporter, De La Cruz has interviewed dozens of national celebrities, prominent business figures and leading political officials, including Bill Gates, Defense Secretary William Cohen, Tom Hanks, John Travolta, and numerous members of Congress. De La Cruz has served as host and correspondent for TV Guide Network, covering entertainment news, and has also worked as a freelance journalist for a variety of other broadcast projects.

After leading a nationwide campaign aimed at saving her brother's life in 2009, De La Cruz now devotes much of her personal time and energy to charitable work and advocacy aspiring to provide better access to affordable healthcare for all Americans.

De La Cruz has also appeared as a guest columnist in The Huffington Post and makes frequent public speaking appearances. She is currently authoring a book about her brother's struggle and the U.S. healthcare system.

Recently, she spent considerable time in Europe reporting on the international differences in health care policy.

De La Cruz is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association, serves as a spokesperson for Lions Health First Foundation and regularly mentors aspiring broadcast journalists at the Associated Press Television-Radio Association’s Academy as well as abroad, most recently at the American University in Paris.
